Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make millionaire brownies ahead of time?
Yes! These brownies are actually better the next day. The caramel sets fully and the layers slice cleaner after chilling.
Do millionaire brownies need to be refrigerated?
Yes. Because of the caramel layer, it’s best to store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Can I freeze millionaire brownies?
Absolutely. Slice them first, then freeze in an airtight container with parchment between layers. They’ll keep for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight.
Why didn’t my caramel set?
The caramel likely needed more cooking time. It should be thick and glossy before pouring over the brownies. If it’s too thin, it won’t firm up properly.
✨ Make It a Late Night Snack Ritual
- Dim the lights and turn on a small lamp or candle.
- Warm one brownie for 8–10 seconds to soften the caramel.
- Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top (trust me).
- Pour a glass of cold milk or make a cozy mug of tea or hot cocoa.
- Sit somewhere comfortable — couch, bed, favorite chair.
- Take the first bite slowly. No scrolling.
- Journal a few thoughts or watch one comfort episode.
- Wrap the rest neatly and save for tomorrow.
